The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the enrollment schedule for NISHTHA Courses during the 2026–27 Cycle 1. The online professional development courses are being conducted by CIET-NCERT to strengthen the competencies of teachers, school heads and teacher educators.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) plays an important role in helping educators adopt contemporary teaching practices, respond to emerging educational priorities and improve the quality of teaching and learning. NISHTHA (National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement) is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, offering professional development opportunities to teachers and school heads.
NISHTHA Courses for 2026–27
For the academic year 2026–27, the first cycle of NISHTHA courses is being conducted from April to October 2026 under two categories:
NISHTHA Category II – Proficiency Courses
1. NISHTHA FLN
Target Group: All school heads and teachers of the Foundational and Preparatory stages, up to Grade 5.
2. NISHTHA ECCE
Target Group: All school heads and teachers of the Foundational and Preparatory stages, up to Grade 5.
The enrollment closing date is 31 August 2026, while the course closing date is 15 September 2026.
NISHTHA Category III – Advanced Courses
The following courses are being offered under Category III:
- Cyber Hygiene Practices: Personal Digital Devices
- Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste (E-waste)
- Action Research
- Catch the Rain (English)
- Catch the Rain (Hindi)
These courses are designed to provide educators with opportunities for advanced professional learning in areas relevant to contemporary education and school practices.
