The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding Post Result Declaration Facilities for students of Class XII Supplementary Examination 2026. The facilities have been introduced to ensure transparency, fairness and student welfare following the declaration of the supplementary examination results.
Under the process, students can first request a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book. After receiving the scanned copy, eligible candidates can proceed to the next stage and apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both.
CBSE Post-Result Process
The process will be conducted in two stages:
Stage 1 – Scanned Answer Book
Students can request a scanned copy of the evaluated answer book for the desired subject. This will allow them to understand how their answer book was evaluated and how marks were awarded.
The scanned copy will be provided through the candidate’s login account after information identifying the examiner, evaluator or other examination officials has been blocked.
Students who wish to challenge the marks awarded can then proceed to the next stage.
Stage 2 – Verification and Re-evaluation
Only candidates who have obtained the scanned copy of their evaluated answer book through the prescribed process will be eligible to apply for:
- Verification of Marks
- Re-evaluation
- Both Verification of Marks and Re-evaluation
For re-evaluation, candidates must refer to the relevant marking scheme available on the CBSE website and submit their request for the required full question(s) along with the prescribed reasoning.
Important Guidelines for Students
CBSE has specified that the entire application and payment process will be online. Requests will be accepted only during the prescribed schedule and along with the applicable processing charges. Offline applications will not be accepted.
The processing fee can be paid through UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. Payments through Postal Order, Demand Draft, Money Order, Cheque or Cash will not be accepted.
Other important points include:
- Only one application for each step per candidate will be accepted.
- Students must personally submit their applications and ensure that all details are correct.
- CBSE will not be responsible for errors made by third parties.
- If marks are revised, a decrease of even one mark will be implemented.
- If there is a change in marks, candidates will have to surrender their existing Mark Statement-cum-Certificate, after which a new document will be issued.
- The fee will be refunded if marks increase after verification and/or re-evaluation, in the same account from which the payment was made.
Rules for Re-Evaluation
CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation will be available only for the theory portion of the examination. Re-evaluation will be conducted for the full question and not a part of a question.
Students should carefully examine their scanned answer book and compare their answers with the applicable marking scheme before submitting a request.
The status and outcome of verification and re-evaluation will be made available through the candidate’s login/CBSE website.
Importantly, the result of re-evaluation will be final, and no appeal or further review against the re-evaluation will be entertained. The decision of CBSE regarding the marks awarded will be final and binding.
CBSE Advises Students to Rely on Official Information
CBSE has advised students and parents not to rely on unverified social media posts, rumours or unofficial sources regarding the result and post-result process.
Students are advised to carefully read the official notice and submit their applications correctly within the prescribed schedule. For assistance, candidates can contact their respective CBSE Regional Offices or CBSE Helplines.
CBSE has also clarified that scanned copies of answer books under the RTI Act, 2005 will be provided as per the provisions of the Act. However, requests for re-evaluation or grievance redressal cannot be made under the RTI Act.
