The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed all affiliated schools about the opening of Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the general public. The Summer Annuals Edition 2026 will remain open from 16 August to 15 September 2026, providing students and teachers an opportunity to experience its botanical, environmental and educational features.
According to CBSE Circular No. Acad-56/2026, Amrit Udyan will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last entry at 5:00 PM on all days except Mondays.
Amrit Udyan to Showcase Diverse Flora
The Summer Annuals Edition 2026 features a rich variety of indigenous and native flowering plants known for their vibrant colours and ecological significance.
The Udyan also includes several attractions designed to provide enriching experiences for children, including:
- Bal Vatika, based on the story of a 225-year-old Sheesham tree
- Treehouse
- Nature’s Classroom
- Babbling Brook
- Floral Clock
- Central Garden
- Long Garden
- Circular Garden
The landscaped zone also features a meandering water stream with cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones and a raised reflecting pool.
Visitors can further explore the Banyan Grove, which includes reflexology paths, Panchatva trails and forest-inspired soundscapes. The Herbal and Plumeria Gardens offer sensory experiences through curated plantations and grass mounds.
Another key attraction is the Floral Clock, created through a circular arrangement of vibrant flowers bordered by compact edge plants.
Special Entry on National Sports Day and Teachers’ Day
As per the CBSE circular, 29 August 2026, observed as National Sports Day, and 5 September 2026, celebrated as Teachers’ Day, will have special arrangements at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
- On 29 August, Amrit Udyan will be open exclusively for sports persons.
- On 5 September, it will be open exclusively for teachers.
Entry on these two special days will be permitted only with a valid identity card.
