The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued important instructions regarding the digital evaluation of Class 12 answer books using On-Screen Marking (OSM) starting from the 2026 Board Examinations.
As per the official notification, Class 12 answer sheets will be evaluated digitally, while Class 10 answer sheets will continue to be evaluated in physical mode in 2026. To ensure smooth implementation, CBSE conducted a webinar on 13 February 2026 and announced a mock evaluation and monitoring process for teachers.
CBSE informed that teachers will receive login credentials on their registered email IDs after updating their OASIS data. Teachers must log in from their school, change their passwords, and securely note their credentials for future use. Evaluator authentication will be done through OASIS ID, School Code, and Date of Birth.
Teachers are instructed to practice multiple times on the Digital Evaluation Platform to get familiar with the system and avoid issues during the actual evaluation period. CBSE will monitor login and practice activities, and teachers can attempt practice sessions unlimited times.
The mock evaluation facility will be available from 16 February 2026 for about one week. Principals are directed to ensure that all teachers teaching Classes XI and XII compulsorily complete the login and practice activities.
For monitoring purposes, CBSE has also provided a dedicated dashboard for schools, allowing Principals to track:
- Total number of teachers with updated OASIS data
- Number of teachers who completed OSM practice
- Number of teachers yet to participate
CBSE emphasized that participation in this preparatory exercise is essential for smooth and error-free digital evaluation.
