The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the online portal for availing exemptions and facilities for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) appearing in the 2026 Class X and XII Board Examinations will remain open from 9th September 2025 to 22nd September 2025 (till 11:59 PM).
As per CBSE’s 2019 circular on CWSN provisions, students with special needs are entitled to several facilities during examinations, such as extra time, use of a scribe, exemption from third language, and other relaxations depending on the type of disability.
Process for Schools
- Schools must mark candidates as CWSN while filling the List of Candidates (LOC).
- Using the Pariksha Sangam portal, schools can access the CWSN module, where all eligible candidates and permissible facilities will be displayed as per the student’s disability category.
- Once selected, the facilities will automatically appear in the student’s admit card, enabling exam centers to make proper arrangements in advance.
- Schools must upload requisite documents along with the application within the given timeline.

CBSE has urged all affiliated schools to ensure that no eligible CWSN student is deprived of facilities due to delays or incomplete submission. Schools are expected to guide parents and students in availing these exemptions smoothly.
