The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension of the timelines for submitting various categories of applications under the SARAS 7.0 Portal for the Affiliation Session 2027–28.
According to the latest notification, the last date for submitting online affiliation applications has been extended to 30 September 2026 across all categories. This extension has been granted to provide schools with additional time to complete the application process.
Key Highlights
- New last date: 30 September 2026 for submission of all affiliation applications under SARAS 7.0.
- Schools whose timelines expired while the SARAS Portal was non-functional have been given additional relief.
- Applicants are allowed:
- 30 days from the date of the notification to submit “Compliance After Grant.”
- 15 days from the date of the notification to submit “Compliance After Deficiency at Part A Level.”
- The timelines for related activities—including Inspection Committee member consent, inspection scheduling, inspection visits, submission of Inspection Committee Reports, and other time-bound processes—have also been extended accordingly.
CBSE has stated that the decision has been taken after due consideration to ensure that schools receive adequate time to complete affiliation-related formalities without being affected by the earlier technical issues on the SARAS Portal.
Schools applying for affiliation or upgrading their existing affiliation are advised to make full use of the extended timeline and complete all pending submissions well before the revised deadline.
