CBSE Announces Special Examinations for West Asia Students
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced special examinations for eligible Class XII students in West Asian countries whose examinations in 40 subjects could not be conducted during the 2026 Board Examinations due to the prevailing situation.
The affected countries are Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The 40 subjects include 20 academic and 20 skill subjects. CBSE had earlier notified an Assessment Scheme on March 27, 2026, under which results of regular candidates from West Asian countries were declared on May 13, 2026. Results of private candidates were also subsequently declared under the same scheme.
The Board has now decided to conduct examinations for eligible candidates in the subjects that were previously cancelled. The decision has been taken in compliance with the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in CWP-815 of 2026.
Who Is Eligible?
Regular Candidates
Regular candidates are eligible if they:
- Are students of CBSE-affiliated schools in the specified West Asian countries.
- Had their LOC submitted for the Main Examinations 2026.
- Had their results declared under the Assessment Scheme.
- May appear in subjects of their choice.
- Must submit their LOC personally within the prescribed schedule.
The result of the special examination will be final and will replace the earlier performance.
Private Candidates
Private candidates are eligible if they:
- Had submitted their examination forms for the Main Examinations 2026.
- Had their results declared under the Assessment Scheme.
- May appear in subjects of their choice.
- Must personally submit their examination forms within the prescribed schedule.
Their special examination result will also be final and will replace the earlier performance.
LOC and Examination Form Submission Dates
Eligible regular and private candidates must submit their respective LOC/forms between:
September 22 to September 26, 2026
