New Delhi, July 3, 2025 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released comprehensive guidelines for conducting practical examinations alongside the Supplementary Examinations 2025. The instructions apply to students in the compartment category, specifically those required to reappear in practical exams or in both theory and practical.
Who Needs to Appear?According to CBSE:
- Class XII students marked as Repeat in Practical (RP) will only appear for the practical exam. Their earlier theory marks will be retained.
- Those marked Repeat in Theory and Practical Both (RB) must appear for both theory and practical exams.
- Class X students with RB status must also appear in both components. If internal assessment was missed earlier, pro-rata marks will be awarded based on performance in the theory exam. No fresh internal assessment will be held.
Practical Exam Schedule
- Dates: 10th July to 15th July 2025
Venue Details
- Regular students: Practical exams will be conducted in their own schools.
- Private candidates: Exams will be held at their respective theory exam centres. If a centre lacks practical facilities, CBSE Regional Offices will arrange nearby alternatives.
Examiner Appointments & Evaluation Process
- External examiners for Class XII will be appointed by CBSE Regional Offices.
- Internal examiners will be appointed by the school/centre from their own staff.
- Marks must be uploaded on the same day of the exam and will be considered final. No changes will be allowed later.
Instructions for Students
Students must:
- Contact their school or exam centre by 7th July 2025 with a copy of their result, marksheet, and admit card.
- Report at the designated venue on time as informed by the institution.
