The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has encouraged all affiliated schools to actively utilise the PM eVidya CBSE-15 TV Channel and its educational e-videos to support student learning and teacher development.
PM eVidya, comprising 200 dedicated DTH television channels launched in 2024, has been designed to provide supplementary academic support, subject enrichment, teacher training modules, and competency-based learning resources to students and educators across the country. CBSE, which operates the dedicated PM eVidya CBSE-15 channel, earlier shared guidelines for schools on setting up the required viewing infrastructure.
The initiative aims to:
- Ensure Equity in Education
By providing uniform, curriculum-aligned content to learners irrespective of location or socio-economic background — helping bridge the digital divide. - Offer Grade-wise & Theme-focused Learning
Content is curated to suit different age groups and classroom requirements, supporting competency-based and progressive learning. - Enable Self-paced & Flexible Learning
Repeated telecasts and YouTube availability help students revisit concepts anytime beyond school hours.
Currently, 67 e-videos have already been produced and broadcast, covering pedagogy, assessment, classroom practices, and technology integration. These are developed with the involvement of subject-matter experts and aligned with CBSE curriculum and NEP-2020 objectives.
Schools and teachers can also access programmes via the official CBSE TV YouTube channel to extend the reach of digital learning.
