The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the assessment scheme for Class 10 students in the Middle East region, following the cancellation of remaining board examinations due to the prevailing situation.
Earlier, CBSE had cancelled the pending Class 10 examinations in countries including:
- Bahrain
- Iran
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
However, exams conducted between 17 February 2026 and 28 February 2026 were completed successfully. During this period, students appeared in a total of 22 subjects, including major academic and language papers.
📊 How Results Will Be Calculated
CBSE has introduced a case-based assessment scheme depending on how many exams a student has appeared for:
✅ Students who appeared in all exams
- Result will be based on actual performance in all subjects
✅ Students who appeared in 4 subjects
- Marks for remaining subjects will be calculated using the average of best 3 subjects
✅ Students who appeared in 3 subjects
- Remaining marks will be calculated using the average of best 2 subjects
✅ Students who appeared in 2 subjects
- Remaining marks will be calculated using the average of those 2 subjects
📌 Special Cases & Important Points
- Students who changed exam centres to another country → Result based on actual performance
- Private/compartment candidates → Will get opportunity in Second Board Exams if needed
- Internal assessment marks (already completed) will be included as submitted by schools
- No special exams will be conducted beyond CBSE’s existing policies
- Students can still improve their performance in Second Board Exams
CBSE has also confirmed that results of Middle East students will be declared along with other students.
⚠️ Final Note
CBSE has clarified that the result prepared using this assessment scheme will be final, and any further decision, if required, will be taken by the Board.
