The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the Class X Second Board Examination Results 2026. Students can now access their results and digital academic documents through the DigiLocker Results Portal.
The introduction of the Second Board Examination is a significant reform under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, giving students an additional opportunity to improve their academic performance.
Highlights of the CBSE Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026
According to CBSE:
- Total Registered Candidates: 6,64,027
- Candidates Appeared: 6,63,777
- Students Appearing for Improvement: 5,13,955
- Students Who Improved Their Performance: 3,08,095 (59.95%)
- Students Appearing in Compartment Category: 1,49,822
- Students Who Passed in Compartment: 78,503 (52.40%)
- Overall Pass Percentage (Main + Second Board Examination): 96.78%
CBSE also noted that the Compartment pass percentage has improved from 48.68% in 2025 to 52.40% in 2026.
Better Performance Considered
For regular students, CBSE has confirmed that the better score obtained between the Main Board Examination and the Second Board Examination has been considered while preparing the final result.
This gives students a valuable opportunity to improve their academic records without any disadvantage.
Availability of Results
Students can access:
- Digital Mark Sheets
- Passing Certificates
- Migration Certificates (where applicable)
through the DigiLocker Results Portal.
Schools will also receive school-wise results through their registered email IDs and can download students’ digital academic records using their CBSE credentials.
Printed Mark Sheets
CBSE has informed that:
- Printed Mark Sheet-cum-Passing Certificates for regular students will be distributed through their respective schools.
- Private candidates will receive digital documents through DigiLocker, while printed copies will be sent to their registered addresses.
- Private candidates under the Delhi East and Delhi West Regional Offices can collect their printed documents from their examination centres.
Post-Result Services
CBSE has stated that details regarding post-result services, including verification and other facilities, will be announced separately through an official circular.
The Board has also advised students and parents not to rely on rumours or unofficial social media posts and to refer only to official CBSE communication channels for authentic updates.
