The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official advisory announcing that the Registrar of Firms, Societies and Chits, Agra has cancelled the registration of the entity titled “CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO), Agra” through an order dated 05 December 2025.
According to the Board, the cancellation has been made due to the unauthorised and misleading use of the name “CBSE” by the society without obtaining consent from the Central Board of Secondary Education.
CBSE has clarified that it has no association, affiliation, endorsement, or connection with the said society. Any communication, activity, event, or claim made under the banner of CBSE-WSO should be treated as invalid and unauthorised.
✔ CBSE’s Advisory to Schools
All affiliated schools have been clearly instructed to:
- Avoid any engagement with the CBSE-WSO society
- Not support or sponsor students for sports events or programmes conducted by this entity
- Exercise full due diligence when responding to organisations claiming links with the Board
CBSE further urged schools to verify authenticity before participating in any external activities to prevent misinformation and misuse of the CBSE name.
