Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced special provisions for students of Class X and XII who participate in National/International Sports events and International Olympiads. These measures ensure that students pursuing excellence in academics and extracurricular activities are not disadvantaged due to schedule conflicts.
Key Highlights:
1. Special Examinations for Class X:
- Under the new two-Board Examination system for Class X (First Exam: Feb 2026, Second Exam: May 2026), students participating in recognized sports events will be eligible for rescheduled exams only during the Second Board Examinations in May 2026.
- Students must fill the LOC (List of Candidates) for the main examination.
- Exemption from the first examination requires prior permission from CBSE.
- Compartment examinations, if required, will be held the following year in Feb/March.
2. Special Examinations for Class XII:
- The scheme remains unchanged. Students whose exam dates clash with recognized events will have examinations rescheduled after the first exams.
3. Eligibility and SOPs:
- Only sports recognized by SAI/BCCI and Olympiads recognized by HBCSE qualify.
- The opportunity applies only to Board theory exams, not practicals, internal assessments, or supplementary exams.
- Schools must submit participation certificates and recommendations to the concerned CBSE Regional Office by 15th December.
- Rescheduled exams will be conducted within 15 days of the last main exam date.
- All approvals are final and binding; late requests or non-compliant submissions will not be considered.
4. Benefits:
These provisions promote holistic development, discipline, teamwork, and time management among students while balancing academic and co-curricular pursuits.
