The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched the CBSE Counseling Hub & Spoke School Model for the academic session 2025-26, aiming to provide enhanced psychosocial support and promote student wellness in schools. This initiative is aligned with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on accessibility, institutional capacity building, and peer learning in the area of counseling and wellness.
The Hub & Spoke Model is designed to create a collaborative network where Hub Schools act as central points of support and Spoke Schools function as affiliated partners. This model will allow schools to work together, sharing resources and expertise to enhance the overall counseling and student wellness framework.
For the academic session 2025-26, CBSE has already identified a list of Hub Schools and their corresponding Spoke Schools. Roles and Responsibilities:
- School Heads/Principals of both Hub and Spoke Schools will provide leadership and guidance for successful implementation.
- Counselors/Wellness Teachers will operationalize the model, with oversight from the School Head/Principal.
- Collaboration: Counselors from Hub Schools will collaborate with their counterparts in Spoke Schools to implement monthly activities.
- Reporting Framework:
- Spoke Schools will submit monthly reports to their corresponding Hub Schools.
- Hub Schools will compile and submit a consolidated report by the 5th of each month through the following Google Form:

CBSE encourages all designated Hub & Spoke Schools to actively engage in this initiative, which is designed to strengthen the school counseling ecosystem and provide students with the support they need for their academic and personal well-being.
