The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important circular regarding the online submission of examination forms by Private Candidates for the Class XII Supplementary Examination 2026.
The notification is specifically meant for private candidates, including eligible students appearing under the Compartment (3rd Chance) category. The online application process commenced on 30 June 2026 and will remain open until 8 July 2026 (11:59 PM) through the official CBSE website.
Who Can Apply?
According to the CBSE notification, the following candidates are eligible:
- Private candidates whose Class XII 2026 result was declared as “Compartment”.
- Private candidates who appeared with six subjects and have compartment in one or two subjects (subject to eligibility).
- Students who appeared in Board Examination 2025, remained in the Compartment category during the 2025 supplementary examination (1st chance) and again in the 2026 Board Examination (2nd chance). These students are eligible for their final (3rd) chance in the Supplementary Examination 2026.
Important Dates
- Online Application Starts: 30 June 2026
- Last Date to Submit Form & Fee: 8 July 2026 (11:59 PM)
- Class XII Supplementary Examination: 28 July 2026 (Tuesday)
Application Process
Private candidates must submit their examination forms personally through the CBSE online portal by:
- Entering their Roll Number, School Number and Centre Number.
- Selecting the eligible subject.
- Uploading a recent passport-size photograph and signature.
- Choosing the examination city carefully.
- Paying the prescribed examination fee online.
Candidates should save their Application ID after successful submission.
Examination Fee
CBSE has prescribed the following examination fee per subject:
- ₹320 for schools/candidates in India
- ₹1,100 for candidates in Nepal
- ₹2,200 for candidates outside India
Visually impaired candidates are exempted from paying the examination fee.
Important Instructions
CBSE has advised candidates to:
- Submit the application before the deadline, as no late applications will be accepted.
- Ensure that the online fee payment is successfully completed; incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Note that no challan payment facility is available—payments can only be made through digital modes such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
- Download admit cards once released. The schedule for admit card download will be announced separately.
Consolidated Marksheet
CBSE clarified that a consolidated marksheet will be issued only to candidates whose result was declared Compartment in the 2026 Board Examination and who successfully pass the Supplementary Examination 2026.
