The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a national-level webinar on “Psychological First Aid: A Multidimensional Framework for Promoting Mental Well-Being in Educational Settings.” This initiative aims to empower educators, counsellors, and school stakeholders with practical skills to support students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
The session will be held on:
📅 Date: 19 November 2025 (Wednesday)
⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
🎤 Speaker: Prof. (Dr.) Daya Pant (Retd.), Former Head, Department of Educational Psychology & Foundations of Education, NCERT
This webinar has been specially designed to help participants understand how to provide immediate, compassionate, and effective psychological support to students in distress. It also includes real-life case studies to help educators understand appropriate actions during crisis moments.
A major highlight of the session is the introduction of the LOOK – LISTEN – LINK framework, which gives educators a structured method to:
- Recognize early signs of emotional or behavioral issues
- Listen actively to students’ concerns
- Connect them with appropriate support
Participants will also learn strategies to manage situations like panic, aggression, fear, disobedience, and other distress reactions among students.
The webinar will be hosted live on Webex, and participation is limited to 1,000 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Principals, teachers, counsellors, parents, and students from CBSE-affiliated schools are encouraged to attend and share the information widely.
CBSE emphasizes that promoting mental health in schools is crucial for building a compassionate, resilient, and emotionally strong generation of learners. This webinar is an important step toward strengthening the psychological readiness of school communities across India.
