The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a prior notification to all affiliated schools regarding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for Classes X and XII for the 2025–26 session.
In 2026, CBSE will conduct three separate examinations as part of a revised academic framework:
- Main Examinations for Classes X and XII in February/March 2026
- Second Examination for Class X in May 2026
- Supplementary Examination for Class XII in July 2026
This significant change aims to improve examination accessibility and efficiency but also requires precise and timely data entry by schools.
Most Important Instructions for Schools:
CBSE urges all schools to be fully prepared with accurate candidate details before LOC submission begins. Common errors in previous years — like incorrect subject codes, misspelled names, and late submissions — led to delays and affected examination processes.
Schools should ensure:
- Correct full name of the candidate (as per the admission register)
- Date of birth, gender, category (General/SC/ST/OBC)
- Full and correctly spelled parent/guardian names
- Subject-wise registration as per CBSE’s scheme of studies
- Upload of student photo and signature in the prescribed format
- Submission of each student’s APAAR ID
CBSE Notes the Following Recurring Issues:
- Errors in subject codes
- Incorrect personal details of students/parents
- LOC not submitted on time
Such mistakes delay the exam process, disrupt timelines, and cause unnecessary difficulties for both schools and students. With three major exam cycles scheduled, CBSE emphasizes utmost accuracy and responsibility from schools this academic session.
📢 Schools are strongly advised to begin verifying student data now to avoid last-minute corrections or rejections.
