The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notice directing all affiliated schools to provide Class XI registration numbers to students applying for the JEE (Main) 2026 examination.
As per the circular dated 6th November 2025, CBSE reminded schools that the National Testing Agency (NTA) requires Class XI registration numbers to be entered in the JEE (Main) application form.
The Board noted that despite earlier instructions — mentioned in the CBSE Date Sheet circular dated 30.10.2025 — several students and parents have reported difficulties in obtaining these registration numbers from their schools.
Taking serious note of this issue, CBSE has reiterated its directions and instructed all school heads to ensure that Class XI students appearing for JEE (Main) 2026 are provided their registration numbers without delay.
This step aims to facilitate a smoother JEE application process and prevent unnecessary stress or technical issues for students applying through NTA’s portal.
School principals have been advised to ensure compliance immediately and provide full support to students during the application process.
