The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new circular inviting all affiliated schools to participate in the Values Education Programme conducted by the Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi. This initiative builds on earlier programmes announced under Circular No. Acad-44/2017 and Acad-76/2019.
The programme focuses on nurturing values, developing character, and empowering students to make thoughtful and responsible choices. It uses a discussion-based, interactive approach that encourages learners to analyse real-life situations, understand consequences, and cultivate reflective thinking.
✔ Programme Options Available
CBSE has highlighted two values education offerings for schools:
1. Foundation of Citizenship Programme – AACT (Awakened Ambassador for Community Transformation)
- Duration: One year
- Format: 16 modules
- Focus: Builds awareness, empathy, social responsibility, and decision-making skills.
2. Awakening Programme (for Primary Students)
- Duration: Five-year graded programme
- Focus: Helps younger students discover values through stories, reflection, and discussions.
Both programmes aim to instil core values and guide students in becoming confident, responsible, and compassionate citizens.

Schools opting for these programmes will receive:

- Teacher training
- Step-by-step implementation support
