The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has lodged an official complaint with the Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit of Delhi Police regarding a series of coordinated cyber attacks targeting its Post-Result Services Portal.
The portal was launched on June 2, 2026, to facilitate important post-result services for Class XII students, including verification of answer books and re-evaluation requests. According to CBSE, the portal faced repeated cyber attacks over several days involving large volumes of malicious traffic originating from multiple IP addresses both within India and abroad.
CBSE stated that the apparent objective of these attacks was to disrupt portal operations, prevent legitimate student access, and attempt unauthorised extraction of information. Given the scale and sophistication of the attacks, the Board has sought a detailed investigation and legal action against those responsible.
Despite these attempts, CBSE confirmed that its systems, databases, and student information remained fully secure. No data breach, unauthorized access, or compromise of student records was detected.
The Board credited its success in mitigating the attacks to continuous 24×7 monitoring and support from leading cybersecurity institutions and government agencies, including IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Digital India Corporation, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), CERT-In, and other central government bodies.
CBSE reassured students, parents, and schools that all post-result services continue to operate securely and that the Board remains committed to protecting student data and ensuring uninterrupted access to examination-related services.
