The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all its affiliated schools to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, which will be observed from 9 August to 17 August 2026.
The campaign will be organised along with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The campaign aims to encourage citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and develop a personal and emotional connection with the Tiranga. CBSE has requested schools to involve students, teachers and parents in various activities during the campaign period.
Activities Suggested by CBSE for Schools
CBSE has encouraged affiliated schools to undertake the following activities:
- Encourage students and their families to hoist the National Flag (Tiranga) at their homes in accordance with the Flag Code of India.
- Motivate students, teachers and parents to upload their ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ on the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
- Organise special morning assemblies focusing on the significance of the National Flag and India’s freedom movement.
- Conduct Flag Hoisting Ceremonies within the school.
- Organise collective singing of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’.
- Conduct patriotic songs, choir competitions and cultural programmes.
- Organise pledge-taking activities promoting patriotism and national unity.
- Encourage students to learn and become familiar with the National Song through educational resources available on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
- Display the Tiranga Exhibition, available in the download section of the official portal, wherever feasible.
Schools Can Submit Activity Reports
CBSE has also requested schools to share a report along with high-resolution photographs of the activities conducted during the campaign.
